If you’re wondering how you can live with more purpose, more joy, and more confidence, you’re not alone. I specialize in working with those navigating difficult transition periods, feeling “stuck”, or wanting to improve their relationship with themselves and others. Maybe you’re going through a breakup, entering a marriage, leaving a job, or becoming a parent. You might want greater insight into how your experiences in childhood impact you as an adult, and wonder why your relationships always seem to follow a similar pattern. I offer a supportive space for individuals and couples to process and navigate the ebbs and flows of life.
My approach acknowledges that we are all part of larger interconnected networks (families, communities, cultures, and societies). Naturally, our lived experience as well as our own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by our environment and relationships. Whether it’s harmful family dynamics or systemic racism, I help you identify what isn’t within your control and harness what is, so you can better navigate the reality of the world we live in and shed self-blame for what was never yours to carry.
Even when we intellectually know what’s best for us, we can find ourselves repeating patterns that no longer serve us. In our work, I’ll support you in reconnecting with and trusting your intuition, so you can make decisions with greater confidence and intention, and build more fulfilling relationships.
The process of finding a therapist can be daunting, and applaud you for taking this step and committing to yourself in this way.
When I’m not doing therapy I’m probably bopping around the city with my husband and baby, sewing (I’m learning to make my own clothes!), baking and/or eating sweet treats, working out, or hanging with friends.
Q & A
How would you describe your therapy style?
My approach is warm yet direct. I bring humor, creativity, and curiosity to every session, guiding you to a place of greater self-understanding and acceptance. I’ll ask you hard questions, challenge existing beliefs, and help you uncover and address what’s preventing you from living a more satisfying and fulfilling life. From inner child work to journaling and somatic (embodied) practices, I integrate a variety of healing modalities into our sessions together, and will assign “homework” whenever we find it appropriate.
Have you been in therapy yourself?
Yes! My first experience was terrible (a story for another time) but I tried again a few years later and I’m so glad that I did because I found someone who changed my life. Through work with this therapist I was able to break down limiting beliefs about what my life could look like and how I could feel while living it. I gained a better understanding of how the intersection of my identities affected my lived experience and discovered the power of making more space for play, friendships, and self-care.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with those who want to do the work. Those who are open-minded to trying different things to support their care (like writing or meditation) and are curious about themselves and others.
